A Heavenly Hideaway

An award-winning chain of resorts and hotels that reflects its founder’s love of design, life, nature, history, conservation, adventure and culture, The Pavilions has made itself at home in some truly stunning locales across the globe. The latest addition to its already impressive list of luxury accommodations is an expansion of its presence in Nepal which it established with The Pavilions Himalayas. Appropriately named The Pavilions Himalayas Lake View and located in the city of Pokhara, Nepal’s first ever luxury tented eco-villas overlook Phewa Lake and are surrounded by the Annapura Himalayas and cascading rice fields.

Guests will be treated to a one-of-a-kind experience from the get-go as the journey to their destination involves a relaxing paddle boat ride across the lake followed by a short hike through a curved mountain trail. Meanwhile, more adventurous souls can opt to hike there from The Pavilions Himalayas which will take roughly three hours or get ferried via jeep safari transfer.

Whichever route they choose, their breath will undoubtedly be taken away the moment they set their eyes on the eight exclusive open-design ecovillas greeting them upon their arrival. Comprised of four Classic Lake Villas, three Grand Lake Villas and one Royal Lake Villa, the tented suites are all designed in such a way that the line between the indoors and the outdoors is almost non-existent. Two shining examples of this are the villas’ fully retractable wraparound glass doors that offer an unobstructed view of the stunning landscape and al fresco rain showers. The hand-crafted furniture that give each villa a unique style adds to this effect as they not only capture the essence of the outdoors but also create the feeling that one is sleeping under the stars.

Furthermore, privacy is completely guaranteed with the generous amount of space that exists between any two of the villas. Cocooned in their own little slice of paradise, guests will be able to indulge in all the comforts expected of a The Pavilions establishment without worrying about being disturbed. Even the dining experience at The Pavilions Himalayas Lake View is an experience in and of itself with a mouth-watering menu that changes from day to day and features everything from Nepalese cuisine to international flavours. Prepared using premium organic produce harvested from the establishment’s very own farm, the food wholly embraces the farm-to-table philosophy. Aside from the breakfast and lunch or dinner that is part of the daily rate, there are also a la carte meals available at the Clubhouse.

Once they have eaten their fill, adventurous guests can opt to go kayaking on the lake, take a nature walk with a local naturalist as their guide, hike to The Pavilions Himalayas or ride a jeep safari there. For those who prefer to relax or take advantage of the establishment’s wellness opportunities instead, there is a natural mountain spring pool nearby where they can take a dip and potentially spot some of the local wildlife. Alternatively, they can pamper themselves with a traditional massage that uses unique mountain botanicals.
