When you command the best views at one of the best cities in the world, then it is only fitting that you have one of the best interior designers to suitably glam up your home

Mention New York and skyscrapers, luxury brands, and immaculately dressed men and women on their way to power meetings, leisurely lunches, and shopping sprees are some of the first few things that come to mind. As a bustling city that never sleeps, New York is home to some of the tallest and glitziest skyscrapers in the world, but with buildings getting taller and the bar for luxury constantly raised higher, it takes a pretty special building to set your heart racing and One57 fits the bill.

The epicenter of Manhattan which is more famously referred to as the Billionaire’s Row is the ultimate landscape of society, culture, and commerce and feeling right at home in this majestic setting is One57. Standing tall at approximately 1,000 ft, One57 is the epitome of grandeur- for every design detail starting from One57’s grand entryway to the chandelier, the luxe leather furniture, and large-scale artwork, all exude a feeling of opulence.

Nestled amidst the glass tower with a curved top is an apartment that serves as a pied-a-terre to a Hong Kongite family, who’ve always been in love with the lushness of Central Park. With simplicity as the design foundation, the family wanted this abode to exude elegance and calmness through its contemporary design while leaving the natural panoramic view of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline unobstructed. But when you live in an iconic address and your neighbours are the crème de la crème of the society, the idea of designing the space can be daunting nevertheless one firm rose to the challenge exceptionally.

The award-winning Jasmine Lam Interior Design & Architecture cast their magic upon the apartment and like adding finishing strokes to an already perfect painting, the team at Jasmine Lam Interior Design & Architecture delivered a breathtaking result. They took on the challenge and transformed the 4,500 sq ft space through the clever use of colours, textures, and lighting. Focusing on achieving a seamless design in all their projects, Jasmine Lam Interior Design & Architecture that is based in New York and Miami felt the minimalistic approach was the best way to highlight the beauty of the space while allowing the natural splendor beyond the apartment to shine through the ceiling-to-floor windows.

Incorporating the studio’s signature style of clean and eclectic design complemented by cultured interiors, the Entry Foyer displays a handmade Japanese washi wallcovering. Washi, iconically a Japanese culture is one of Japan’s most fundamental, and overlooked, artistic product. Custom-designed hand-forged decorative metal screens were also added for textural experience and a play on light and shadows. The cream and black color palette opted, highlights these architectural features. When the 15’ wide pockets doors are pulled open to reveal the Great Room; soft earthy tones of gray, beige, gold and pale green reminiscence of Central Park command the area. Pops of brown throughout the apartment bring the entire room to life.

As we delve further into the apartment, His and Hers Dressing Rooms, and an enormous library wall are built from cerused walnut and feature embedded LED lighting. All through the apartment, the use of 12’ high floating ceilings with cove lighting provides muted illumination that somehow reminds occupants of endless sunset. Large black-stained raked oak portals that frames each section of the home – defining each area as its own distinctive function – softened the sterile look of the apartment while adding boldness and vibrancy. To complete this apartment, Jasmine and her team put focus on bespoke details, such as furniture, decorative lighting, accessories and artwork from artisans across the globe.

The apartment with its coveted address, unobstructed views of Midtown Manhattan and the opportunity to experience the magnitude of New York from a truly breathtaking vantage point is further perfected by Jasmine Lam Interior Design & Architecture who with their sublime furnishings and design ideas have made this abode fit for royalty.
