12.12.12 Uniting for Disaster Preparedness and Artistic Heritage in Malaysia

12.12.12, a notable charity initiative aimed at disaster preparedness and the preservation of artistic heritage in Malaysia was recently launched at the ASPIAL, Petaling Jaya in July 2023. Led by Datin Winnie Loo (Chairperson), the project’s core mission is to address Malaysia’s vulnerability to monsoon rains and floods by acquiring 100 sets of Flood Rescue Boats equipped with engines and life jackets. This strategic approach ensures a timely and efficient response and rescue operations during natural disasters, safeguarding lives and minimising damages. Therefore, the 12.12.12 campaign will be organising a Fundraising Charity Gala Dinner in December 2023 to seek sponsorship and raise funds up to RM2mil for these projects.

In parallel, 12.12.12 also celebrates the diverse cultural richness of Malaysia through a 2024 calendar featuring self-portraits painted by talented artists. These portraits represent 12 iconic aspects of Malaysian culture and heritage, unwrapping the nation’s vibrant identity and traditions.

The event was graced by Royal Patron, Her Highness, Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tuanku Dr Hajjah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, Raja Puan Muda Perlis, and Advisor YB R Yuneswaran, a member of Parliament of Segamat, Johor. Other notable VIPs at the scene are Datin Dorph Peng (Corporate Liaison), Ms Crystal Lau (Treasurer), Ms Yvonne Chong (Media & PR Liaison), Ms Sharon Lok (Art Liaison) and Melvin Lam (Project Mentor), CEO of ACTnow Mobile Community Application.

The project partners of 12.12.12 are ASPIAL Production (Official Audio Visual Production Studio), Messrs. Juslyn Chin & Jean (Official Legal Advisor), Shanghai Magazine (Official Chinese Business Magazine) and Metropolitan Home & www.designspeak.asia (Official Design Magazine).

In short, the 12.12.12 is a manifestation of unity and compassion, bringing the community together to create a safer and culturally enriched place for Malaysian.
