Championing artistic brilliance, orchestrating inspirational rhapsodies and revolutionizing the landscape’s interior design scene is the Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID) through its upcoming MIID REKA Awards 2023.
In line with this, the prestigious MIID REKA Awards 2023, regarded as Malaysia’s premier honours in interior design, have opened their doors to submissions, welcoming entries until the deadline on 31st August 2023. This distinguished award stands as a tribute to the pursuit of professional excellence, duly acknowledging and reverently applauding the remarkable achievements and invaluable contributions within Malaysia’s dynamic interior design scene. REKA’s chairman, IDr Joe Chan expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, “This year, we encourage our talented members and industry professionals to showcase their best works and inspire the nation with their design excellence.”

The spotlight of this year’s competition is on two distinct pillars: Design Excellence and Industry Excellence; the former is exclusively accessible to professional interior designers and architects registered under Lembaga Architect Malaysia. The competition is divided into eight subcategories spanning various genres such as Public & Institutional, Food & Beverage, Corporate Offices, Hospitality, Retail, Exhibition & Entertainment, Residential, Show Units, Green Interiors & Adaptive Reuse, alongside a segment for Student Work. The competition eloquently presents industry diversity and innovation. The second-year introduction of the ‘Emerging Designer Award’ further recognizes and honours promising young talents in the design realm.
Within the framework of the ‘Industry Excellence’ category, accolades are bestowed upon those who have showcased remarkable proficiency and unwavering dedication in the sector of Interior Builder and Interior Products. This category stands as a tribute to industry contributors who have not only elevated benchmarks but also ardently propagated a culture of quality consciousness, harmonizing seamlessly with MIID’s overarching objectives.
