Thanks to a collective effort between the Embassy of Czech Republic and Galeri Petronas Kuala Lumpur, the public was brought a delightful summation of the famed Czech glassmaking industry through the eye of art glass photographer, Miroslav Vojtěchovský. Having captured the synergy of craftsmanship and creativity of these artistic feats frozen in glass, Vojtěchovský breathed life into what seemed to be ‘dialogues’ between the artists’ thoughts, personality as well as the resulting sculptures. From geometric lines to the uncommon curvature, it certainly is a form of architecture to behold. Moving through the exhibition, one not only grasps the difficulty of the task involved over the years, but also the use of death-defying tools (yes, there is fire involved!). Indeed, the adoration of these glass panes with precious metal laminas imprint an everlasting appreciation for this artful skill.
