The brand behind the state-of-the-art computer hardware, Predator, has now released its designer-focused counterpart. Yes, you read that correctly, ACER has now produced a brand of computer hardware for the creative community. After noticing a growing group of creators that were buying the high-performance PCs for the purpose of creative work, ACER introduced ConceptD – a brand made for creators.

We had the opportunity of interviewing Mr Chan Weng Hong, General Manager of Product, Sales & Marketing of Acer Malaysia and got to know more about ConceptD and what were the inspirations behind the brand and what makes it the perfect tool for all the creatives that are on the lookout for the best.

WHAT IS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE DESIGN OF THE CONCEPTD SERIES?

The inspiration for introducing and creating the ConceptD Series came from noticing that a growing group of consumers were purchasing our Predator Gaming series. These purchases, however, were not to play games but to use these high-performance PCs to create.

These consumers are not gamers but designers and developers that needed a strong and powerful machine to run their demanding professional software for their creative work such as video rendering. However, just having a strong PC is not necessarily enough for these creators as there are other factors that are required for them to reach perfection in their work such as colour accuracy, hence the creation of ConceptD.

WHY IS CONCEPTD SUITABLE FOR DESIGNERS?

The ConceptD Series is not only built for performance but with other factors as well while keeping in mind on what a creator requires in their work in the creativity line. The ConceptD series was also built with precision in mind, especially focusing on the importance of colour accuracy.

Besides that, video editing especially would require a high refresh rate. At this current moment in time where 2k and 4k videos are the new normal, a higher refresh rate is required to ensure that each scene and detail are there no matter how small it is.
