The award-winning interior design and architectural practice was founded by Nick Fong, Alex Lee and Leslie Cheng who were brought together by chance and their shared interest in the industry.

Although practicality was and continues to be the driving force behind their high-quality designs, the Nu Infinity team has vastly expanded their creative scope over the years to produce some truly cutting-edge concepts. Such was the case when they were brought in to transform a spacious residence in Shah Alam into a place of conversation. As the client was open to experimentation in terms of the use of unconventional materials, the designers took the opportunity to craft an unorthodox design they named Villa 14. Their first step was to take into account the expansive nature of the home as they needed to ensure that the new design elements they were introducing and the base structure would be compatible with one another. Another key factor that also influenced the design was the fact that one side of the building was receiving the majority of the natural light. Instead of being redirected, this light was reflected for the purpose of illuminating the inner sections of the house using high-gloss materials.

The design itself has an overall modern luxury concept although traces of somewhat rustic cosiness shine through especially in certain areas of the residence. This can be seen in the combination of materials incorporated into it which include marble and wood. However, the most exotic one of them all is a specially selected grey marble with specks of gold in it. Used to replace the entire abode’s flooring, it is sure to be the topic of conversation among guests. Furthermore, the placements of the slabs were determined with the homeowner’s assistance after having seen them laid out off-site. Choice pieces were placed in prominent locations where they would not fail to be noticed while the others were installed in areas with less foot traffic.

Naturally, each of the home’s areas and rooms has a unique design element separate from the marble to give it its own unique character. For example, the dining room has a ceiling feature that blurs the line between the interior and the exterior of the house. This not only enhances its sense of grandeur but also amplifies its sense of spaciousness. The master bedroom is also worth noting with its comparatively bolder palette which grants the space a strong atmosphere that sets it apart from the rest of the residence.
