BlueScope Steel Architectural Awards 2024: ASEAN’s celebrated finalists vie for the most beautiful

With the end of the national levels of BlueScope Steel Architectural Award in Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand — comes a new beginning. This next round of the Awards will see all winners from five categories of the four ASEAN countries compete for the highest distinction

All national levels of Bluescope Steel Architectural Awards (BSAA) 2024 across four countries have come to a close! The winners from Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand will now advance to the next stage of the Awards series, the ASEAN level of BSAA. This regional level, dubbed as BSAA ASEAN, will be a celebration of utmost excellence in steel architecture across ASEAN countries where the coveted ASEAN Award will be announced.

Following independent national level evaluations, the finalists for BSAA ASEAN will be further appraised by an esteemed jury panel consisting of Ar. Asae Sukhyanga (President of The Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage, Thailand [ASA] 2024-2026), Dr. Ar. Tan Loke Mun (Founder and Director of DTLM Design Group, Director of Archicentre Sdn Bhd and DrTanLM Architect, Malaysia) and Ar. Achmad D. Tardiyana (MUDD, IAI, Principal at PT.Urbane Indonesia) alongside Ar. Richard Coulson (Director of COX Architecture, Australia) and Dr. Ar. Truong Thanh Hai (Vice-Rector of the University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam [UAH]).

Through a theme of ‘Beautiful Strength of Steel Architecture’, the finalists will be evaluated based on three main criteria: design excellence, innovation and sustainability.

These 14 finalists for BSAA ASEAN will be flown in to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the Awards’ closing ceremony in November, where a regional winner for each of the five categories will be announced. On top of the award trophy and certificate, BlueScope will also sponsor a week-long knowledge exchange trip to Australia for all ASEAN Award winners.

The anticipated night of BSAA ASEAN 2024

Set to take place this November, the BlueScope Steel Architectural Awards, ASEAN closing ceremony will prove to be an achievement in and of itself. Gold recipients from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia will converge in Kuala Lumpur as finalists of the regional stage, acting as representatives for their respective nations.
