However, a living space still needs to offer its inhabitants a sense of belonging, a place where they feel comfortable enough to call home. Instead of going overboard with outrageous and impractical decorations, Deseo Creativo, known for its daring usage of colours, has cleverly balanced each space within this double-storey terrace with cheerful pastel colours that effectively provided the cosy ambience that it needs. At the living room, the feature wall is decorated with simple wall panelling that gives depth and definition without taking away from its clean, modern look. The bright pastel sofa ensures that the space appears inviting without sticking out like a sore thumb as the design is further balanced with a classical cream-coloured arm chair that blends beautifully with its modern glass coffee table and floor rug.
Stepping into the dining and dry kitchen area, the design continues to feature modern elements and minimalist approach to furnishing. To complement its white and grey colour scheme, dark timber furniture pieces are included, ensuring that the space appears warm and cosy. At the same time, the designer has decorated the space with wall paintings made of a mixture of pastel colours to soften its design while maintaining a sense of cohesion with the living room. Functionally, the dry kitchen is fitted with a series of kitchen cabinet and a wood finished kitchen counter that doubles as a casual dining area and a separator from the dining area.
The staircase design that applied a layer of timber finishing above each step, reflects the transition from common areas into the private quarters of this residence. Replacing sleek white floor tiles for timber flooring, the upper level exudes a soothing vibe that raises the level of comfort instinctively. The master bedroom is given a darker colour scheme to offer a grounding presence for the design. Equipped with a built-in wardrobe, bedside dressing table and a modern feature wall consisting of disruptive lines, its minimalist approach has opened up the room visually. The first of two children’s bedroom design centralised on a pastel blue and white colour scheme while the other bedroom takes on a more masculine approach with black and grey-coloured stripes.
