Championing young architectural talents with every benevolent move is DOMA Initiatives, understanding that giving in earnest today translates to the betterment of all tomorrow. 

Not too long ago in 2017, the Domain of Malaysian Architecture (DOMA) Initiatives sprung forth as an independent and non-profit Architecture Foundation by like-minded architects and academicians who support the philanthropic agenda of giving back to the profession by sharing, developing and promoting their fresh counterparts. It is an inclusive, open platform that allows and encourages all parties to network freely on all matters in relation to architecture and design. 

The foundation has successfully organised international architectural conferences, dialogues, forums and sharing sessions to create a strongly unified network of design individuals, with various talents and experiences, within and beyond the region. It also works closely with the Aga Khan Foundation, specifically the Aga Khan Award for Architecture (AKAA) and the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC), for programmes that support architecture design and education in Malaysia. The founders-cum-central committee spearheading DOMA comprises Fay Cheah, AKAA SEA Coordinator and Architecture Foundation Advisor; Ar. David Chan, Architecture Foundation Director and CEO of DOMA College; as well as Ar. Chan Mun Inn, Architecture Foundation Director. 

Looking towards the near future of 2022/2023, DOMA aspires to generate a greater awareness of its presence and efforts among those in the industry and the general public. Considering operations are completely managed on a pro-bono basis with the help of volunteers, the foundation relies on the generous spirit of every individual who supports and participates in the programmes and initiatives. Although a registrar of membership is yet to be formalised and as such runs fairly openly for now, plans have already been devised to begin doing so next year.
