Born of Heritage, Envisioned for Magnificence | The Macalister Mansion is art in motion, giving life to creativity, inspiration, and innovation. No wonder this revived heritage building bags the prestige of being the first hotel member included in the Design Hotels brand.

Born from a Heritage building, the Magnificence of the Macalister Mansion was envisioned to house greatness. Classic architecture joinery and wainscoting flows throughout this century-year-old mansion that turned into a timeless boutique hotel, as it combines two beautiful materials, painted wood and a dedicated marble for an accent dual-tone wall in eclectic Old English Style. Impressively breathtaking, the lobby is cradled by Roso Albania marble and charcoal centre bead wood panels. Balancing the multi-textured design with wood strips and Terrazzo, heavy emphasis is placed on the eclectic pillar-wrapped display cabinet and its ceiling mirror. This sitting area is the perfect reflection of serene luxury.
On the right, the check-in elegant check-in counter uses Calacatta Lincoln marble and flair wicker walnut table sides that contrast harmoniously with the tri-coloured mosaic floors and its matching hexagonal-designed white ceiling. Be served like royalty as you admire the mansion’s enduring values and high standards etched in charcoal wood and blood-red wallpaper. Hanging on the grand designer stainless steel brass display, the antique key and tassel bring back the nostalgia of the height of 1950s hospitality. A one-of-a-kind work of art, the staircase is dimmed for suspense and to elevate the romantic ambience. Flowing in a visually never-ending stream of wool brown, the carpet is fixed onto the steps with stainless steel brass rods to secure the material to the Ice Emerald marble floor while giving a dash of 1950s glam. The curved inlay strips of white wood guide the heart through an elevated sense structure while the textured pine wood rail exudes an air of warmth that welcomes all to its abode.
Nestle in the Spider Red marble room with its high ceilings that are further emphasised with white wash wood strips. Met with a juxtaposition of treated pine wood and custom furnishings in velvet and leather, the carpet is a ready-commissioned art handcrafted by a local artist. It calls to the contemporary soul who just wants all the comforts of everyday necessities in clearly detailed contrasts of design without any fuss and frills.  The trendy city folk gets a choice of a AAA or BBB-clad space. Both provide ample natural light from their Plantation shutters, French windows, and French doors that open to beautiful nature to refresh one’s creative juices. Modern lighting and stainless steel and leather finishings give it a taste of concrete jungle meets posh countryside in these two rooms.
Set in loft mode, the Verde Alpi room divides restful slumber and wakeful activities. Retro and ready to party, play host to a few friends in the privacy of your room. To enjoy a different ambiance, head up the antique french spiral staircase that enters a bedroom tucked into a cosy corner. Facing the fully glassed bathroom, the study fits every nature lover. Complimenting the individuality of every area’s style, the beverage tray, and other knick-knacks were handpicked and custom-made to match its interior. CHIC ESSENCE | In the misty mountains of Genting Highlands, tranquillity meets urbanity at a unique resort-styled development graced with Feng Shui-friendly elements that showcase the beauty of its surrounding nature.

The Scapes Hotel Genting is the epitome of urban beauty, melting into surreal nature as its façade uses glass to reflect and semi-camouflage with the blue sky. Bringing together the best materials, Metrics Global incorporated loose furniture from Milpro Consultancy, featured decorative lives from Plus Lamp Concept, wall paint from Wall Craft, and wallcoverings from Waltex Corporate to ensure luxury is achieved. Designed to heighten the entire Reception and bring out visual focus, the raw cement, curvaceous forms, and suspended hemp rope lights make its Reception stand out. Letting in nature through a huge lighted architrave made with a metal frame and reeded glass panels zone up the buffet counters and act as a partition for multi-function areas throughout the spacious ground floor. Mixing wood, marble, rattan, and many fabrics, the all-day dining and bar lounge exudes a sophisticated air of class and refinement. For those who enjoy viewing the art of nature, a hanging wall garden leads the way to Rimbawan’s hallowed hall.
Encapsulating a cosy ambience that shouts private luxury, the custom-printed carpets take inspiration from the different shades of soil and sand, while the wood panels become the visual tapestry of a Pandora Forest. The entrée to the function room sparkles with electric stars – dramatic suspended lighting that perfectly balances the purpled flooring and modern lighted wall panels. In continuation of its worship of nature, the Scapes Hotel Genting offers six themes of guestrooms that are designed to house family vacations, and leisure stays for the adventurous. The Shrub pays homage to the rich soil of the earth. Using the darkest colour palettes, hints of gold remind us of the hidden treasures and the importance of the land in our lives. These polished brass and pray-painted gold tints are littered across the room, from the rims of mirrors to the scaffolding of tables and other decorative accessories.
In direct contrast, The Ground brings light grey textured walls into the foreground as touches of green are employed to soften its hard edges. It displays a love for the concrete jungles of the city and its lively ambience. Conversely, the Canopy heightens the senses with a colourful and bright scheme of floral designs. It is a balm for the soul, complete with soft finishes and lovely pastels. Those who enjoy a more masculine outlook have a choice between the two types of the Understory rooms. The city folk generally enjoy the rich range of wood colours and textures that brings out the most primitive jungle mood, allowing their inner Tarzan loose. To move the hearts of the sophisticated eco-warriors, there are rooms styled in textures of rattan and canning that evoke the sensibility of touch and arouse the delicacy of the 60s British furnishing. Letting in ample skylight, the Emergents are designed with darker tones to emphase the illuminating aura of our beloved sun from the full-length windows.
