A stylish pavilion is integrated into the layout of this residence to provide a dedicated space for the owners to entertain guests. Coupled with design features inspired by gentlemen’s clubs in the UK, the interior checks all the items on the list of a modern lifestyle.
The boxy, pavilion-styled home is one that exudes a contemporary chic vibe. Paired with the perfect layout and design, though, it can also draw out a timeless, stylish and polished grace. Here, the main challenge for the design team at The Roof Studio was to conceptualise a design that features a great space for entertaining guests and a comfortable living environment for the family. Raw and refined elements were carefully married into the layout to harmonise the contrasting details within the interior. As guests enter the premise, they are greeted by a gorgeous living area decked out in warm, dark wood and furnished with tasteful vintage pieces. The dark neutral tones of the design evoke a calm and classy vibe while the Cheshire leather chair further establishes the identity of the design.
Conceptualised with multiple purposes in mind, the dining area can be easily adjusted to match the ambience for the intended activity. The existing kitchen wall was removed to incorporate storage solutions without compromising the connectivity between spaces. It is further fashioned with elegant yet simple chandeliers to spruce up its overall aesthetics. Uniting nature and luxury, the space caters to a huge variety of social events, such as fun birthday parties, casual family gatherings or sophisticated dinners for a more matured group of friends.
The sliding door can be opened fully to make the room more spacious. When closed, the dining room is transformed into an intimate setting that offers both style and privacy. Meanwhile, the raw concrete finishing of the dining wall adds to the rustic, lofty feel, ensuring that the design appears more contemporary without compromising the level of comfort. Across the dining area, the dry kitchen is sectioned off with a long, bar counter equipped with its own overhead shelves.
Conventionally, outdoor areas are situated at the sides of a home. In this design, the pavilion is a challenge to traditional layouts, which provides both aesthetical and functional values. Embracing its multi-faceted purpose, the pavilion offers natural light and can be incorporated into the layout as a means of expanding visual boundaries beyond the existing space. It also doubles as a lounging bar area for entertaining guests. Furthermore, this addition is in line with the township in which the house is situated, which emphasises the beauty of an eco-friendly lifestyle.
Taking advantage of the pavilion, the design blurred the lines between outdoor and indoor spaces, which provided the interior with a uniquely exotic layout. Natural light permeates into the interior to create a leisurely vibe while refined brass and gold elevates the overall aesthetics with a luxurious undertone. Drawing inspiration from the stylish grandeur of a gentlemen’s club, this design is layered with leather, natural wood textures, exposed bricks, matted chromatic finishes and opulent chandeliers to complete the tasteful look. Appealing to the sight and touch of visitors, the ritzy yet vintage aesthetic offers them a sense of indulgence, perfect for social gatherings. The pavilion, decked out in lush carpet grass and concrete slabs, connects the dining room to the kitchen. Furthermore, choice rugs such as the cow’s hide and soft grey fabrics are added as finishing touches to set the mood in each room.
Air ventilation is another important part of the puzzle when constructing over a wide space. In this particular layout, the pavilion offers an abundance of natural light and air that flows through the interior seamlessly. On the upper level, each room is paired with a large balcony for this very reason. Furthermore, floor-to-ceiling glass panels are added to promote the connectivity between spaces as the black metal frames cast lovingly sensual shadows in the interior, creating a leisurely, resort-like vibe under the glowing sun.
The master bedroom is fitted with a modernised poster bed, finished with sleek black surfaces. Grand, luxurious yet urban, this feature blends in seamlessly with the grey wall features. The French wall design further accentuates the elegant aesthetics. Ensuring that every square inch of space available, the design also features a walk-in wardrobe that doubles as a partition in the master bedroom. The use of open wardrobe opens the area up visually, thus creating the illusion of a wide and roomy space.
All in all, every detail is carefully designed and calculated to meet the comfort and lifestyle needs of the owners. The perfect balance between the charm of modern minimalistic styles and the grandiose allure of luxurious design makes this a home oozing with charisma
