THIS GORGEOUS TERRACE HOME DESIGNED BY MIL DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION SDN BHD CATERS TO ALL THE NEEDS OF A FAMILY OF FIVE
This modern two-storey terrace home tucked away in an upmarket suburb of Kuala Lumpur consists of 3400 square feet and features a chic, minimalistic vibe that is both trendy and timeless. This home is designed to be a haven for a family of five. A comfortable, spacious but still cosy space for family bonding activities is a must. As you enter the home through the foyer, you already get a sense of how this home will be. There is a lovely feature wall of slate-toned textures as well as a very practical sitting bench. From this entrance, you can look out to the gorgeous ground floor. This ground floor is designed to have a welcoming environment and a cohesive design story. From the living room to the dining area and the kitchen space, a spatial and visual tie is present. The designers are able to do this by using a similar design language. Namely, this refers to the use of subtle colour palette of natural tones, the presence of clean linear designs, as well as the combination of white marbles and neutraltoned furniture with pops of deep terracotta reds and teals.
The open concept that is equipped for the kitchen and dining areas was planned intentionally. Such a layout makes this space more inviting and suitable for home entertaining and gatherings. The kitchen is designed around the walnut timber of the cabinetry that carries a sleek vertical pattern. Classic taupe and bronze detailing helps to add dimension to the design. One side of the kitchen is designed with fully movable panels which hide away a kitchen worktop and extra storages. This panel that sits perfectly flush when not in use makes this kitchen truly perfect for entertaining guests as it covers any mess in a beautiful way. The long quartz island counter is also a gorgeous choice as it contrasts with the warm timber in a complementary way. The designers also created a study room that can also be used as an ironing room. A practical use of space, this home study consists of a chic study table, bookshelves and storage cabinets with a concealed ironing board. It can also be transformed into a guest bedroom with the clever use of a sofa bed.
Of course, as important as common areas are for each home, each bedroom should also be designed to be comfortable and ideal for each inhabitant too. In this home, the designers took great care to design each bedroom with a hotel suite concept, complete with ensuites plus built-in wardrobes and dressers. These rooms are located on the second floor. The master bedroom is designed with a soaring 16-feet ceiling and an eye-catching feature wall for the headboard made of smoked timber veneer trellis, suede upholstery and a tinted glass finish. It certainly makes for quite the unique ambiance. The darker aesthetic helps create a moody and relaxing feeling. This master bedroom is much like a suite. It has a separate reading lounge on the other side where one can relax and chill. The walk-in closet is in dovetail white and lacquered panels help to allow for better organization and storage. Lighting such as cove lights, down lights, concealed cabinet lights and floor lamps are used throughout this gorgeous room to provided added moodiness.
Another notable ones is the junior suite. This room is modern and chic with a unique arched upholstered headboard in dusty pink and other midcentury touches. The mix of rustic chic vibes with the lovely pastel pinks comes together so harmoniously.
On the first floor, there is another family space that is designed to be perfect for bonding activities over the weekends. This space has access to lots of natural light and is more casual than the formal living room. With large beanbags, a vibrantly coloured sofa and a mix of bronze wall shelves and the floating TV console ledge, this room is much more fun and laidback.
