Using wood as inspiration, this impressive abode features a double volume rectangular box enclosing the main living spaces of the house.
The Mansions comprises a limited range of super-link houses sited on a hill-slope site within a lush greenery enclave in the self-contained township of Desa ParkCity, which focuses on creating a wholesome living experience for its residents to foster family, neighbourhood and community ties. Having gotten the keys to a private abode here, one new homeowner wanted their home to reflect both the exclusiveness and natural surroundings of the development. That task was handed to Ar. Dr. Tan Loke Mun and Alvin Tham Yee Weng who transformed the place into a nature inspired multi generation family home.
Generous wood accents are what define the residence here. The dynamic duo from Dr. Tan Loke Mun Architecture Sdn. Bhd shows us the functionality of using wood both in architecture and interior design. The use of natural materials such as wood is valued for its sturdiness and also for its versatility to transform a room.
The woody feel concept can be observed in the main living area which is crafted as a large wood framed voluminous jewel box, with the space being encapsulated by raw unfinished meranti. The centrepiece lighting showcases floating crystals weaving and hovering dragon-like over the main space, emphasized further by the amber glow of the dark emperado marble slabs on the floor. Steps lead upstairs through the industrial rod supported steel stair, a sight to behold for its modern and industrialist sculpture.
The elegance of the master room is magnified by long see-through walk-in wardrobe. Selected raw materials add to the immaculateness of the space with the use of glass and light.
