Originally a backpackers hotel, Kafe Kleptokrat had transformed the ground and first floor of the building into a cafe, serving local foods that cater to Malaysians’ taste. Because of the MCO, some of the rooms in the hotel have been transformed into dining areas. Here comes the question, is the pool opened to the public? It is in fact opened at night for all the guests of the backpacker hotel to use, but currently not opened for cafe goers.
With all recycled and reused furniture, the cafe keeps most of its heritage the way it was since the 1920’s – donned in timeless furniture and decor taken from old homes in Alor Setar, then transforming them into rustic and fine pieces that scream nostalgia.
