Kuhlmann International experience centre opens on Kallang place. Leading German modular interior builder of home solutions opens Singapore showroom
The new Kuhlmann Experience Centre, a 3,000 square foot showroom specialised in whole home solutions such as kitchens, closets, storage systems, loose furnishings, and architectural interior finishes, has opened. The Kuhlmann International office in Singapore was established early this year.
The Experience Centre, which combines robust German industrial technology with beautiful Italian creativity, provides more than a look into the brand’s unique European past.
The Experience Centre, designed by Creative Director Simon Chiang, depicts the inside of a home divided into kitchen, living, dining, and closet rooms. The Centre is a superb illustration of the customised modular building model by the brand’s principles, with the newest furnishings and accessories, all personalised.
The showroom’s material palette is a timeless mix of black glass, crisp architectural lines, and a visually totally open concept. Walls were eliminated and huge panes of glass were utilised to split the rooms while working on a small space. Black mirror runs the length of the showroom, giving the impression that it is double the size of the main hall. The repeating suspended wood panelled ceiling lines provide the impression that the main showroom is longer. The whole showroom is visible from the main entrance, and the several zones are clearly marked as living room, bar, walk-in wardrobe, kitchen, and dining area.
The idea is to envision the Experience Centre as a lavishly furnished home or penthouse. To let the intrinsic quality of the materials and finish of the Kuhlmann kitchens and furnishings to be shown visually to clients, the interiors embraced a sleep, defined, and muscular aspect. In a 3000K render with a bright warm glow on the surfaces and textures, lighting plays a major role in highlighting the various zones of the Centre. Visual interest is created through soft lighting, beautiful pendant lights, and a softly lighted green wall at the showroom’s back.
The success of the brand is based on three pillars: quality, efficiency, and design. Years of research and development have yielded a rigid established standard that applies to all goods in order to assure quality and long-term endurance. Materials are carefully picked to compliment and survive the customer’s location’s design and weather conditions.
