Say “Benvenuto!” to Flexform’s First Flagship Store in KL

Unparalleled comfort meets understated elegance at Flexform’s first flagship store in Malaysia, all of which is celebrated in the metropolitan style it deserves.

On the late Friday afternoon of 6th September 2024, Flexform — a renowned family-owned Italian furniture giant that was founded back in 1959 — finally launched their first Malaysian flagship store at The Gardens Mall, Kuala Lumpur where all the iconic living room, dining room and bedroom collections are invitingly displayed. Known for exhibiting a soft sense of comfort, neatly wrapped in a smart casual kind of elegance that is never opulent nor seasonal, the generational brand is ideal for those that appreciate a subtle yet finer sense of living. Having said that, the open spaces of the spacious showroom is a visual feast of neutral hues, harmonious designs and a contemporary approach which collectively reflects the company’s timeless vision.

Flying all the way from the brand’s country of origin, Giuliano Galimberti—Co-owner and Export Sales Director of Flexform—stopped by to check out the breathtaking showroom and join in on the event as the guest of honour. Amidst the inaugural celebration, the third generation leader also found the time to graciously share a little bit more about the latest collection and about the company itself with an esteemed degree of passion, insight, care and depth. Standing by his side was Tien Loi, Flexform’s Commercial Director for Asia, as well as Alan Leong, Chief Executive Officer of Ambient Living, a cherished ally who has worked closely with the brand for years as its exclusive distributor for the Malaysian market. Also coming in to lend further support to Flexform was Filippo Fusaro, the Trade Commissioner of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in Malaysia and Adele Di Lullo, Commercial Attaché for the Embassy of Italy.

A welcome speech was made by Alan and Giuliano, before a token of appreciation was given to the latter, among others. After that, CEO Alvin Chang of ACG Media kindly presented Giuliano and the aforementioned special guests with a Designer of the Year (DOTY) Awards 2024 certificate to honour Flexform—and more accurately, the famous Groundpiece sofa designed by long-time collaborator, Antonio Citterio—for Best Product Design, in recognition of the brand’s outstanding commitment and continuous excellence in the field of design. Another round of applause was heard at the indispensable ribbon-cutting ceremony that was held immediately after at the entrance, signalling the official opening of the flagship store.

With the melodic sound of a violin playing live in the background, the guests who were all piqued with curiosity were then ushered into the showroom for a private tour. The vivacious crowd was made up of award-winning design firms such as Designstudio MVH and Sachi Interior Design Sdn Bhd, along with influential architects like Ar. Fabian Tan, Ar. Lim Kee Yen and Ar. Rien Tan. Concluding the affair with free flow booze and canapés, guests took leave with a whole new arsenal of inspiring ideas with promising aspirations to translate them into future designs in celebration of lasting elegance.
