As unusual as her name, Asley who was born in Negeri Sembilan and grew up in Kuala Lumpur, has loved design and drawing since she was 15 years old. Fate would have it that among all the interesting design courses, she was won over by Interior Designing. Industrious and conscientious, Asley followed her dream of being free and having her designs take front and centre, when in 2011 she finally started her own company. Besides being the main designer at her company, she also collaborates with her husband who owns a furniture factory. Benefiting both industries, she designs many of the products, making the furniture one of a kind. At the moment, her team comprises of talented young individuals who are full of fresh ideas, more flexible, and willing to think out of the box. A great fan of Modern Classic, it is her dream to finally expand APLT Design to the USA and UK. Given the opportunity, she intends to combine traditional inspirations; Malay, Chinese, Indian, Peranakan as well as Sabah and Sarawak tribes merged with modern western influences to ensure Malaysian heritage is never lost.
