To be able to use a striking and vivid colour throughout a four-storey space without making it look overwhelming means that the designers have mastered the art of moderation and balance.

When thinking of Industrial Chic, a gentle turquoise shade typically doesn’t come to mind. Usually, the Industrial Chic concept is paired with gritty, urban palettes, but this office space completely challenges that idea. The designers from DZGN Atelier Sdn Bhd cleverly incorporate Worldwide Corrosion Services Sdn Bhd’s signature light turquoise colour all throughout this factory lot to create a unique and impressionable space, while playing up the industrial vibes through metal elements.

A clean and simple aesthetic shines throughout this commercial space. Paired with the vibrant turquiose and industrial sensibilities, a dynamic final product is created. Instead of the usual and boring cubicles often found in offices, specially designed tables with a wiry metal frame allows for a more modern, contemporary, and seamless vibe. This metal-wire theme can be found all throughout the office space, giving a sense of unity and harmony.

Other than the turquoise shade, another motif found in this property is the unique customized CNC wall panels as well as the matching panel downlight. These custom panels have a modern, industrial pattern printed on them and look like unique pieces of art.

There is a keen attention to detail found throughout this converted factory lot. For example, painting the ceiling in the iconic turquoise colour helps to draw everyone’s eyes upwards ; this addresses the limited headroom of the existing structure whilst making the office feel extra spacious. Even the sans serif font choices for the room labels are selected to reflect the clean, modern vibe the design team is going for. Also check out the table in the meeting space, which is placed at an angle, giving an extra sense of dimension and fun to a usually serious room. Even the metal railing in the stairwell is carefully painted over to ensure cohesiveness.

A light-coloured wood is used in certain rooms to give a more serious ambiance, such as in the conference room and private offices. The wood pairs beautifully with the turquoise shade. Together, these shades create something that is refreshing and unlike usual corporate offices. Plenty of greenery can be found all throughout this office as well, giving another touch of brightness. This is most definitely a space that is designed to be a productive and energising workplace.

Considering the client deals with corrosion services, the design team cleverly implements many metal elements in their design. Of course, DZGN Atelier also made sure to feature the company’s signature colour front and centre. Clearly, this team of designers is able to truly consider their client’s identity and expectations.
